Over the past decade, the DJ Earworm year-end mashup has become something of an annual tradition. For the uninitiated, San Francisco-based DJ Earworm, otherwise known as Jordan Roseman, takes the year's hottest hits and combines them into a song that stands on its own.

This is no standard mashup that just combines two songs. In the 2014 United State of Pop "Do What You Wanna Do" mix, Earworm combines a staggering 25 songs with surgical precision. The result is unique creation that stands on its own and is arguable more catchy than some of the source material. Naturally, heavy-hitters like Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Maroon 5 are in the mix. Plus, anyone who is a bit fatigued from Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" or John Legend's "All of Me" can hear the songs with some fresh ears, or at least be amazed how the songs we became tired of were contextualized in an exciting and innovative way. It's amazing how a common musical thread can be found between a diverse array of some of the year's most prominent hit makers.

The Daily Dot asked Roseman about his mashup process in 2012, and he explained, "I’m trying to make pop songs, not mixes. "

He definitely succeeds.
