Something's different about Lauren Conrad. Wait, let me guess — new seashells?
After dropping some heavy hints over the past few weeks, Conrad finally revealed her Halloween costume last night via Instagram. She's a mermaid, in case you couldn't tell by the ocean floor's worth of seashells Conrad recently posted to her Instagram and blog.
Of course, the costume displays LC's usual flair for DIY. The fairly elaborate instructions, posted in full on Conrad's blog, call for such common household items as "two large scallop seashells, your choice of mixed seashells (my favorite were tiny starfish!)," green sequined fabric, and a bustier. Yeah sure, I'll just hit the closet where I store my old Carnivale costumes.
Still, we have to hand it to LC: The finished product does look lovely. Ladies who bought their mermaid costumes in a bag, consider yourselves on notice. There's still time to ante-up on that red acrylic Ariel wig and purple-plastic seashells. (Lauren Conrad)
