Emma Watson Brings Her Feminist Mission To Elle U.K.

In just a couple of months, Emma Watson has managed to step out of Hermione Granger's shadow and into the limelight as a UN Global Goodwill Ambassador and leading charge in the movement for gender equality. According to Elle U.K., she's also the "fresh face of feminism," which makes her the perfect person to grace the magazine's first-ever Feminism Issue.
Editor Lorraine Candy was on hand to witness the December cover girl's powerful "HeForShe" speech before the United Nations. Modeling designs from Stella McCartney, Céline, and Chloé, the 24-year-old Brit now admits that nerves almost got the better of her that day.
"I was very nervous," the Noah star told the magazine. "It wasn’t an easy thing for me to do. It felt like: 'Am I going to have lunch with these people, or am I going to be eaten? Am I the lunch?'"
Instead, the actress emerged a budding Angelina Jolie figure. Behold, Hollywood's newest activist.
"Feminism is not here to dictate to you," Watson said of her fight for gender equality. "It’s not prescriptive, it’s not dogmatic. All we are here to do is give you a choice. If you want to run for president, you can. If you don’t, that’s wonderful, too."
