The New York Times T Magazine recently gave Stevie Nicks the option of choosing anyone to come along to her L.A. home for an interview. And, when Stevie Nicks specifically requests your band to stop by like she did with the Haim sisters, you simply don't decline.
Together Este, Danielle, and Alana made their way over to Nicks' abode and got a lesson in the Sisterhood of the Moon.
For starters: one must journal. Este confessed that she keeps notes in her phone, which Nicks used as an opportunity to educate them in the lost art of journaling. "You want your journals written by hand in a book," she said, "You want your journals written by hand in a book, because someday, if you have daughters...all of these books are gonna go to them, and they’re gonna sit around just like we are now, and they’re gonna read them out loud, and they’re going to be able to know what my life was." Phones, as Apple has so cleverly brainwashed us into believing, come and go, but what's in ink is forever.
Nicks then bestowed her wisdom on apparel (buy what you like in threes) and on music making ("Never sing a song you don't love."). And, after duetting on that little known song "Rhiannon," Nicks gifted each Haim sister a gold crescent moon. A blessing from the highest of musical powers, if there ever was one.
