Neil Patrick Harris Got Hitched This Weekend

In a move straight out of the Barney Stinson Playbook, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka surprised everyone by tying the knot in Italy this weekend. Harris and Burtka, who have been together for more than a decade, first announced their engagement on Twitter in 2011 — although Harris later revealed they'd actually been engaged for five years. So, secretive is kind of their style.

Their wedding sounds legen...wait for it...dary. According to E!, "Both grooms wore custom Tom Ford tuxedos. Their friend and mentor, How I Met Your Mother producer and director Pam Fryman, officiated the ceremony." Oh, and the wedding singer? One Mr. Elton John. NBD for NPH.

The couple has been in the tabloids a lot recently. One rag in particular seemed way too pleased to report that they had broken up. Harris put the rumors to rest by sharing an adorable snap of his family on Instagram along with the caption, "I couldn't be more in love with my family. Any reports to the contrary are woefully mistaken. #grateful." The wedding will hopefully put those rumors to rest.
