Skin-Care Secrets From Vogue Brazil's Beauty Editor

We're always down to learn beauty secrets from women around the world — especially if those women happen to have jobs like, um, being the beauty editor for Vogue Brazil. Victoria Ceridono has that title, and The Cut got her to spill on why Brazilian women tend to look so damn good all the time.

"Beauty here doesn’t come from a place of paranoia, it’s just that people want to feel good," she says, going on to explain that Brazilian beauty culture is focused on self-care. There's also an emphasis on natural beauty, and Ceridono says women there typically focus on skin care rather than face makeup.

Interestingly enough, dermatologists in Brazil are legally banned from having their own skin-care lines. Instead, they work closely with pharmacists to custom-make prescription products for each person. "It gives them bigger control over what is being used so they can use a higher concentration of actives," the editor explains. Can that become a thing in the U.S., please?
