Sometimes, there's something in the sartorial water that makes everyone dress alike. Other times, it's just Dolce&Gabbana at play. And, while wearing the same or similar outfits to events may have been the stuff of fashion-faux-pas past, it's not so taboo any longer. In fact, we're actually digging the collective style unconscious that we spotted at last night's Magic In The Moonlight premiere in NYC.
Yes, the stars were all stepping and repeating (and repeating and stepping) in D&G garb. Still, the lace-or-floral looks seemed new at every turn: Soft white lace was fresh and feminine on Harley Viera Newton and Audrey Tautou, and Julia Restoin Roitfeld and Christina Hendricks chose the fabric in richer colors like gold and ruby. And Emma Stone? Well, she was the ethereal band-leader in a long-sleeved, high-waisted frock worthy of a "best dressed" title. We love the jewel tone next to her red hair and simple makeup. The allover flower print and silhouette kept it just casual enough, making Stone look comfortable yet radiant. Plus, the fact that Gina Gershon wore a mint-green dress of a similar pattern only makes us marvel at the group's collective genius.
