Mick Jagger's New Girlfriend Is A NYC Ballerina

Ten days ago, Mick Jagger was photographed with a mystery woman on the balcony of his hotel room in Switzerland. This weekend, we learned he was with Melanie Hamrick, a 27-year-old dancer with the American Ballet, based in New York. Now, friends and family of the late L'Wren Scott, whom Jagger described as his "love and best friend," wonder how the rocker could have moved on so quickly, just three months after the designer's suicide.

Hamrick reportedly met Jagger backstage at a concert in Tokyo on March 6, just two weeks before to Scott's untimely death. However, a spokesperson for Jagger told the Daily Mail the relationship didn't turn romantic until June 4, when the couple went on vacation in Switzerland together. Hamrick was also reportedly engaged to fellow dancer José Manuel Carreño when she first met Jagger.

"His daughter says that he is still heartbroken and so devastated about losing my sister — and then you see these photos. He will never change," said Jan Shane, Scott's sister, in an interview with the paper.

It's easy to rush to judgment and assume Jagger's being insensitive by dating someone so shortly after Scott's death. The designer's family certainly feels his actions highlight how little he cared for Scott, despite his claims. But, people grieve in different ways. And, perhaps this new relationship is part of that for Jagger. (Telegraph)
