Traveling to music festivals can be a big time commitment — not to mention a huge drain on your bank account. For those of us who don't feel like shelling out the Benjamins for a flight to Lollapalooza, here's some music to our ears: Vans is organizing a crazy-cool concert series right here in Brooklyn. And, tickets are free with an RSVP. Yep, you don't have to pay to see some of the hottest bands of the summer.
This year's lineup stays true to Vans' classic, laid-back vibe, packed with the can't-miss, hipper-than-hip acts like Future Islands, The Black Lips, and Gorilla Biscuits. The series kicked off last Thursday with performances by Charles Bradley and Mac Demarco, and will wrap up on August 14 with Holy Ghost!
Head over to Vans for the full schedule and reservation page. They're filling up faster than you can say, 'Which way to the G train?' — as complimentary things in NYC are wont to do. Better save your spot, ASAP!
