Under-$20 Design Buys You’ll Want — & The EASY New Way To Get ‘Em

Typically we go to Amazon for all the practical things in life. Used books, tech gear, and toilet paper are all in our virtual carts now, which have all but replaced those awful post-work, necessity-chasing errands. But, we have to admit we sometimes miss those checkout-line impulse buys that in-person shopping affords. Now, Canopy's bringing that guilty pleasure into the digital age.
Founded by four design lovers in San Francisco and Toronto, the site curates only the prettiest of pieces available on the mega-e-tailer. After creating a profile, users can endlessly scroll a Pinterest-like board of stylish finds (high-design home goods, far-flung beauty discoveries, weird desk accessories, and then some) and pop those sure-why-nots right into their Amazon carts. Some selects are expected for the catchall shopping destination (Kitchen Aid appliances and Korres lip butters, for example), but there's also a smattering of picks we'd never expect to see on such a mass site, like a Herschel Supply Co. bag or Uten.Silo storage system.
The search function, which allows you to filter by price, is by far Canopy's best feature. Let's just say that the under-$20 tab is the most dangerous thing we've stumbled across since those pretzel M&M's came out. Click ahead for the 12 affordable finds that we had no idea we "needed."
