Nail art is pretty much a girl's game here in the U.S., but that isn't the case in Japan (a.k.a nail-art capital of the world). Men in Japan are men sneaking off to nail salons across the country to get 3-D hearts and fake gemstones affixed to their nails and snagging points in the job market. And here you thought your Coachella nail art was too taboo for corporate.
The practice, called bijinesu neiru, or business nail, is so under-the-radar that Style.com equates it to Fight Club. Of course, we all know the first rule of Fight Club: You don't talk about it. The men who get polished all know each other, go to the same salons (usually after hours), and are willing to shell out a pretty penny for their designs — sometimes half their salaries. But, big money spent could mean big money earned. One man had his salary raised 275% after his boss noticed the company logo painted on his nails. We'll keep that in mind the next time we're up for a promotion. (Style.com)
