Madewell Models Rock Our New Favorite Hair

Emerging from the depths of winter, it's hard to imagine our hair could do anything other than hang lifelessly around our sun-deprived faces. After checking out Madewell's latest lookbook though, we've found ourselves newly inspired. Allow us to direct your attention to Erin Wasson's envy-inducing, #wokeuplikethis, beachy mane. Doesn't it just make you want to die and be reborn as a Madewell model?
Fortunately, reincarnation isn't the only way to get this look. Soon the weather will be hot and humid enough for even the finest hair to hold a wave — or at least a respectable amount of frizz. And, luckily, we've spent the last few months collecting enough tips on how to get beach hair to fill a short memoir. We're currently accepting proposed titles for said memoir, but think it should be something along the lines of, Beach Hair: An Ongoing Quest.

So, to copy this look, there are a number of things you can try. For straight hair, sleeping in braids is a safe bet. That'll give your hair a nice wave. For extra texture, spray it with a salt spray. We're currently loving Davines' version of this product, helpfully named This Is A Sea Salt Spray. Or, there's always the DIY method (sea salt, water, a little bit of leave-in conditioner, and a drop of olive oil in a spray bottle), which has always worked wonders for us. The other thing that helps? Opting out of washing our hair. Sounds gross, but it works.
Until we can actually get ourselves to a beach, we're content to just click through these photos. And, let us know your favorite tricks for faking beach-ified waves — sometimes it takes a village.
