Say what you will about Kanye's influence over his soon-to-be-wife's style, but Kim Kardashian is no puppet. And, her latest red-carpet appearance is proof. The lady can experiment with minimalism and painterly Hermès bags, but she's not immune to the shiny, tight silhouettes of Kardashian days gone by.

For the opening of yet another DASH store — this time in Miami — Kim stepped out in a slightly sheer crop-top-and-pencil-skirt combo. Maybe we're waxing nostalgic, but this choice of ensemble is much more Kim B.K. That's "Before Kanye," of course.

Admittedly, metallics do look great with her skin tone and hair color. But, at this point, we'd prefer to see her continue her recent sartorial evolution. Maybe she'd fare well with, say, a structured, silver pantsuit rather than another version of something we've already seen from her. K'mon, Kim, you've got this.
