Design*Sponge Teams Up With Locals For A Super-Cool D.C. Guide

When out-of-towners visit, we always want to show them that D.C. isn't all work and no play — because that's very dull, indeed. But, coming up with a successful itinerary that encompasses all the best facets of the city is a challenge — at least, it was.
If you’re looking to inspire your visiting friends and fam, check out Design*Sponge’s 24 Hours in D.C. master plan. Produced by three super-creative local ladies — Emily Hilliard, Elizabeth Graeber, and Morgan Hungerford West — this to-do list is a great reminder of all the places that make our city unique and fun.

Starting with coffee and breakfast, the exhaustive itinerary moves through museums, outdoor activities, lunch spots, art galleries, shopping, cocktails, dinner, and nightlife picks. Phew! The roundup includes some favorite go-tos, like Big Bear Cafe and Meeps, as well as some off-the-radar picks, like Julia Child’s kitchen at the National Museum of American History. With tons of options, you’ll have enough material to keep your guests (and even yourself) entertained for days on end. We're even a little tempted to try out this itinerary on our next staycation.
