Katy Perry Has A Crazy Number Of Twitter Followers — Who Knew?!

Not that we’re counting or anything, but there are a select group of folks that rake in Twitter followers like whoa. You could probably guess who a handful of these famous peeps are — Lady Gaga, Oprah, Obama, and Ellen. But, the one who holds the title for the highest number may surprise you.

Apparently, Katy Perry wins the proverbial award for most Twitter followers, ever — clocking in at 50 million. Yep, she even trumped Obama’s 41 million. Not only did she beat out fellow social media-friendly artists (namely Justin Bieber), she also scooped the accolade for being the first user to reach the aforementioned number. Astonishingly enough, 800,000 of 'em poured in just last week, after the singer’s Grammy performance. Maybe it was her edgy new bang trim that did the trick? Either way, we're adding a few more to that number as we type.
