The #Selfie Is Getting Its Own Television Show

Okay, people, the #Selfie has gone too far. Too far. Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that the photo craze is about to take over your television set. ABC just ordered a new pilot, entitled Selfie, written by Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek. It's inspired by My Fair Lady and follows a self-obsessed 20-something woman who goes overboard on social media.

She suffers a very public and humiliating breakup, accumulates way too many vengeful followers, and enlists a marketing expert to help her out of her likes-rut. It all sounds a little too familiar for our tastes. After all, the last thing we need are more reminders of our society's social-media obsessions. But, who knows? The show could be a runaway hit. Just as long as it keeps the duck-faces to a minimum. (Entertainment Weekly)
