Macy's Looks To Renovate Brooklyn Flagship

Photo: Paul Brown/REX USA.The flagship site is at 422 Fulton Street in downtown Brooklyn, and spans more than a million square feet. The renovations would focus on highlighting the brand's millennial merchandising strategy and creating a true retail center in Brooklyn. While the current floor plan poses several challenges to renovations, the chief executive officer and president, Terry J. Lundgren, asserts that “Brooklyn is a fantastic market." We're definitely curious to see what Macy's has planned.
But, Macy's isn't the only mass retailer shifting its focus to Brooklyn. J.Crew is set to open soon in Cobble Hill. Nordstrom Rack is heading to Fulton Street. And, Apple has reportedly been scouting the borough for a retail space, as well. Brooklynites may never have to visit Manhattan again. (WWD)
