Ashlee Simpson Scores An Engagement Ring & Diana Ross As A Mother-In-Law

Yes, we know it seems like everyone on the planet has announced their engagement in the past few weeks, but we've got just one more to celebrate. According to a very jubilant Twitter posting, Ashlee Simpson has gotten engaged to Evan Ross after just seven months of dating. Congrats!

"My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii!!!!," the pop singer tweeted, sharing a photo of her, Ross, and one seriously gigantic engagement ring. While it's hard to make out the ring's details, it looks like Ross certainly didn't skimp in the jewelry department. Atta boy.

Oh, and that "baby love" reference is more than just a cutesy nickname. It also happens to be the name of one of the hit songs sung by Ross' mother. Perhaps the name Diana Ross rings a bell?

Seeing as how big sister Jessica is already due to be married sometime this year, Bronx Mowgli's mama may have to wait a bit to throw her own wedding. On the bright side, getting a certain someone to croon "Endless Love" during the first dance definitely sounds like it's worth waiting for.
