We love awards season — the dramatic introductions, the accolades, the heartfelt speeches. But, mostly, we love it because of the red carpet. And, though the People's Choice Awards may not be, say, the Oscars, we still found inspiration from the celeb catwalk last night.

Enter Anna Faris, from left field, with an outfit chock-full of sartorial tips. We're absolutely crushing on her head-to-toe sequin number that she pulls off without looking one bit over the top. The two-piece ensemble is understated in color and cut, but still fancy enough to strut in front of the paparazzi. The takeaway? When going for a fully blinged-out look, make sure to opt for a muted (and matching!) palette, and a silhouette that's not too hip-hugging. Instantly the embellishments go from gaudy to gorgeous when paired with minimal accessories and makeup. Bonus points: Faris' bleached bangs happen to go perfectly with the entire outfit. Win-win.
