Between W's star-studded Movie Issue, Elle's funny lady foursome, and the prospect of Lena Dunham on Vogue, 2014's magazine covers are already off to a seriously rad start. Now, V magazine just might have taken the cake with its spring 2014 cover treatment: a shot of Kate Upton that peels back to reveal her in nothing but a bikini. Damn, guys.
The striptease is all down to a clever clear cover. While the newsstands will show the sexy supermodel channeling Dolly Parton in a Nicola Formichetti for Diesel denim bodysuit, a flick of the wrist exposes a second shot of the blonde bombshell in an embellished bikini. The tag line? "Why Can't Kate Upton Keep Her Clothes On?" Good question.
“Each time I saw her at a shoot, she had become a bigger and bigger star, and her physique, more and more notorious,” editor Stephen Gan says of the cover, which was styled by Formichetti and photographed by Inez and Vinoodh. “It has always intrigued me, as I’m sure it has to most readers, how someone gets embraced by the general public for taking their clothes off and loved by the fashion world for keeping them on.”
Wonder no more, fella. Judging by these steamy shots, it doesn't seem like this girl on fire has anything to hide.
