Ever watch an NFL game and think: "If only I could get my hands on one of those helmet, some grommets, and a hot glue gun — oh, the places we'd go." No? Neither have we. But, that doesn't mean we're not considering the CFDA designers' pass at football gear a total touchdown. (Yeah, we went there.)
Yes, fashion-industry leaders like DVF, DKNY, Marchesa, Nicole Miller, and more have teamed up with Bloomingdale's to raise money for the NFL Foundation. Their out-there helmet designs (featuring everything from studs to fur to flowers) will be featured in the retailer's windows and auctioned off on January 15, starting at $248 each (a nod to Superbowl XLVIII). Seeing that the game will be held on our home turf (let's not discuss the traffic patterns), we're thinking these will be just the haute hats to wear to root on your favorite team in the cold — especially if the polar vortex sticks around. With headwear this chic, everybody wins.
