Gabrielle Union's Engagement Ring & Matching Mani Set A New Standard

When your boyfriend has three NBA championship rings the size of golf balls, chances are good that he knows his way around a jeweler's. Sure enough, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade didn't disappoint, and longtime love Gabrielle Union is now the proud owner of one seriously stunning (and massive) engagement ring. Mazel!

Wade turned to Jason of Beverly Hills for the 8.5-carat, cushion-cut diamond ring, popping the question just before the Heat's holiday party this Saturday. And, as luck would have it, our "life idol" Union just happened to be sporting a dark-black manicure, making her new bling all the more dazzling. No French manis for this girl!

Fingers crossed that the Union union (sorry, had to) will start a trend in cool manis partnered with engagement rings. If our Instagram feed is going to be clogged with photos of iceberg-laden fingers, we might as well get some nail-art inspo out of it.
