Well, we can chalk this one up as a holiday gift that none of us knew we needed: Chanel has debuted an evening bag in the shape of the brand's iconic No. 5 perfume. Made of plexiglass and blown up to amusingly large proportions, the bag delights the Alice in Wonderland fan in us. At the same time, the bag reminds us of the cartoonish animal-shaped bags from that episode of Sex And The City. Is it an example of fun fashion, or is it, well, cheesy?
The answer may be as complex as the fragrance itself, the varied notes of which contrast with its no-nonsense name. Featuring the brand's iconic (and much-copied) chain strap, the bag has already made its debut on the runways, as well as on the arms of bloggers such as Miroslava Duma.
It's certainly a charming idea — and, of course, we here in the R29 beauty department love seeing beauty-inspired fashion rather than the other way around, for once.
