Tara Lynn Makes A Major Confession About Plus-Size Fashion

We'll just say it: No matter what size you wear, plus-size model Tara Lynn's recent admission is kind of a bummer. In an interview with Elle magazine, the model said, "I'm just going to make this confession — it is hard to make clothes look great on big women. The more fat there is on a body, the more variation there is in the shape of that body."
On one hand, we understand where Lynn is coming from, and as women who work in an industry that pays such close attention to clothes and measurements, we really appreciate her honesty about the topic. But, on the other hand, we're a little disappointed to hear this. It raises two serious concerns: 1) that there are so few clothing options intended for plus-size women that even a model can't feel good about what she's wearing, and 2) that this kind of statement may give the wrong impression. We all have our dressing concerns — whether you're a size two or 20 — but we'd hate to perpetuate the idea that clothing looks best on only one type of silhouette. Of course, Lynn has been a major champion for representing a diverse range of bodies, and hopefully her concerns will be met with the type of attention they deserve.
