These are the questions we find ourselves asking after The Telegraph discovered Hong Kong-based lipstick sculptor, May Sum. Yes, you read that right: Sum is a sculptor whose medium is lipstick. And, NARS, Estee Lauder, MAC, Max Factor, or YSL are her brands of choice.

The sculptor has just completed an “Asia Lipstick Sculpture Tour” and you can buy a sculpture of Lady Gaga, Coco Chanel, Susie Bubble, or Kate Moss through Sum's Etsy shop. Or, for the princely sum of £396, you can have your very own lipstick sculpture made in your image. All you have to do is choose the color and brand of lipstick you want it made from, and then send in a front and side-angle photograph. It takes Sum two weeks to sculpt the intricate piece and great care must be taken with the art work once you get it home. No spotlights and no refrigerators.
