Rad Or Bad: Blush As Eyeshadow

rad-bad-embedPhotographed by Sara Kerens.
We're all for multi-use beauty products, but apparently we missed the memo from NYFW that it's cool to use your blush as an eye accent now. From the adorable apricot shading at Karen Walker to the extreme, sunburn-esque style at Hood by Air, blush halos around the eyes were all over the spring '14 runways.
On one hand, we like how this Karen Walker model's peach makeup enhances her fair skin and blazing red hair. On the other hand, it makes her look a little…off, no? Girlfriend looks kind of bruised, or like she is in the throes of a massive allergy attack — yet, it's oddly also sort of soft and romantic. We're so torn.
What do you think? Is this trend a pretty example of monochromatic makeup, or have these runway shows taken the whole blush-as-eyeshadow thing too far?
