Attention, Academy: American Hustle might not have Oscar's favorite Hollywood faces in it (cough, Meryl Streep, cough, Daniel Day Lewis), but it has everyone else he's taken a fancy to over the past couple of years. With a leading cast made up of Bradley Cooper, Batman Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and our BFF Jennifer Lawrence, how can you go wrong? Throw in a ton of golden opulence, fine (counterfeit) art, hairspray, and '70s decadence, and you've got yourself a surefire Best Picture contender, along with possibly another Best Actress nom for J.Lawr.
From the looks of it, American Hustle is a next-level Oceans-esque film — the trailer is dripping in American gaudiness and greed, and let's not forget Bradley Cooper's groovy perm. As for all that slapping, well, we can only assume it comes with the sinfully tawdry territory.
