Recipe Alert: This Is What You Should Be Pairing With Your Steak

You're probably still detoxing after a long weekend of food and copious libations. But hey, it's summer, which means there are still plenty of barbecues left in your future, so start drinking that water and catch up with the rest of us.
That said, when it comes to adult BBQ beverages, it's all too easy to just pop a bottle or crack a can — which can easily turn into a snooze. So, to help you out of boozy boredom, we tapped the folks at a soon-to-be opened Chicago eatery, Perry's Steakhouse & Grille, for some sipping inspo. The family-owned steakhouse chain (around since 1979) will be opening its doors in Oakbrook Center this fall — perfect timing for all that holiday shopping you'll be doing! Along with its award-winning steaks and tableside desserts, you can expect a robust beverage program. And naturally, they've created a few creative cocktails that pair well with every type of meat. Even better, it's willing to share.
Enter the Blackberry Smash, a zingy and darn-right tasty concoction of fruit and herbs that makes us wish it was already the weekend. The recipe is below, but we encourage you to check out this fun YouTube video of one of Perry's mixologists preparing the drink step by step. Do you have a fun summer cocktail recipe? Share it with us! Until then, feel free to go crazy (but not smashed) with the Smash.
