Every local knows that San Francisco churns out mind-blowing creamy confections in out-of-this-world flavors, but now our ice cream is gaining traction on the national front: Details magazine has whipped up and delivered its favorite top-trending gourmet cones, where our city's hot cold spots took top billing.
According to the list, masters of the creamy cup include Smitten Ice Cream, which ranked all the way to the number one spot, followed by Cole Valley's nostalgic Ice Cream Bar, while new kid on the block, State Bird Provision got recognition for its not-to-miss frosty sandwich. From basil to pizza, flavors here are getting a major delectable revamp and, dare we say — will never return to the state of being so...vanilla.
