One of the coolest things about taking a road trip in the Midwest is stopping off at an old-school supper club in some sleepy little town. But there's no need to gas up the car (cha-ching!) and head to Michigan, Wisconsin, or Indiana for a retro feast. Save yourself the trip and make your way to the South Loop instead.
The Chicago Firehouse just launched a special "supper club" menu, which is offered every Friday evening from 3 to 11 p.m. The all-inclusive meal starts with a traditional relish tray, soup or salad, choice of entrée (Alaskan king crab legs, lobster tail, prime rib, or the catch of the day), and dessert for just $50 per person. The only thing missing? A stiff martini, of course — but that will cost you some extra coin. Oh, and for all of you alfresco addicts, there's an amazing outdoor patio in the back. Now that's what we call a supper club, Chicago-style.
