Taking on Gatsby may have seemed like an impossible feat, but we're willing to bet that playing Rasputin is even more of a challenge — although Leonardo DiCaprio's previous work as Howard Hughes may help him get in the spirit of such a monumental historical figure.
The actor has reportedly signed on to play the role of the famous Russian mystic in a biopic, which supposedly includes facts from Rasputin's life that were previously unknown before they were uncovered by the film's writer, Jason Dean Hall. Though DiCaprio had previously said he would take a break from acting post-Gatsby, this does seem like the kind of Oscar-worthy role that would bring him out of retirement before it even began.
