YouTube beauty tutorials? So three months ago — these days, it's all about using GIFs for makeup. Or, at least, it will be...if The Cut's latest endeavor is any indication. Through clever use of everyone's favorite '90s revival, animated GIFs, makeup artist Daniel Martin gives step-by-step instructions on pulling off blue eyeshadow.

It's not just a gimmick, either. What we really like about this approach is that the GIFs continuously replay, which allows us to apply the shadow while we watch, instead of having to pause and rewind a traditional video clip.
