It was announced yesterday that Alasdhair Willis (Mr. Stella McCartney) is to become the new creative director of heritage wellington boot company Hunter.
The company has acquired a fashion following for their weatherproof footwear ever since a certain Ms. Moss was spotted in a pair at Glastonbury in 2005. Since then, the company has gone to on to produce their classic styles in an abundance of colours and finishes. And of course, they are essential festival kit.
What does it mean for Hunter that Willis is taking control of the creative reins? It’s still early days, but there is talk of an online store opening, groundbreaking collaborations, and a full collection for fall '14. Whatever happens, we know there will be plenty more rainy days and water-soaked fields for Hunter to stake its practical yet fashionable claim on. So...we're not particularly worried. (WWD)
