The love-hate relationship between the Bay Area and socks is far from fizzling out. But this time, the offense isn’t pairing patterned iterations with slip-on sandals (shudder!). Nope, just ask 49er Frank Gore. According to CBS Sports, the running back was fined over $10,000 this week for haphazardly wearing his socks too low in Sunday's Super Bowl-clenching game. Who knew?
How low is too low, you ask? Well, Gore apparently slouched his socks down to his ankles, a major no-no in the NFL. But $10K is still quite the financial hit to take for showing a little skin, if you ask us. Hey, maybe it was the flash of calf that was needed to score those touchdowns in Sunday’s game (which we’re still buzzing about, by the way). But, let’s get to the real subject here: his calf muscles. We really do have to commend him, we wouldn’t want to cover those babies up either! (CBS)
