In the latest fashion news of the week, everyone's favorite kooky singer, M.I.A, will collaborate with Versace. At a talk held at the Museum of Modern Art's PS1 this past Sunday, the Sri Lankan-British phenom announced a coming collaboration with Donatella and the lavish Italian brand.
We can't say that we're too surprised. Despite rumors of Lana Del Rey as Versace's new face, M.I.A's over-the-top style seems like a perfect fit for the legendary fashion house. In fact, the pop star's collaboration may have been a long time in the making. Not only did she attend the latest couture show in July, but her projection of her computer screen at Sunday's PS1 event revealed folders titled "Versace Print," "Bootleg Versace," and "Versace Outlines." Well, looks like somebody's been doing her research.
Will M.I.A's collaboration with Versace live up to the eventual hype? And, more importantly, is it enough to redeem that awkward Super Bowl faux pas? (Fashionista)
