Resort show season is one of the more nebulous of events on the fashion calendar, with shows spanning nearly two months, and each designer interpreting just how a woman breaks up the winter doldrums (Sailing in São Paulo? Sunning in Savannah?). While most of the looks are warm-weather friendly, there never usually are pervasive trends like during the spring and fall shows. That's not to say that there aren't plenty of styling tips to take note of—in fact, this season's resort 2011 shows offered plenty in the ideas department, from fresh ways to mix your prints to the new suit that you won't feel stodgy wearing.
