Zola Jesus is not at all what she seems. The teeny-tiny (she's only 4'11"!) singer-slash-songwriter may at times look like a ethereal waif, but she’s a goth girl at heart. The artist formally known as Nika Roza Danilova created Zola Jesus with equal parts siren and synth. Her deep, haunting vocals combined with gorgeous strings and sweet beats create a delicious cocktail of electro-pop that we want to sip on all night long!
Well, it looks like you can get your Zola Jesus drink on in the very near future — like, tonight! You can hear the blonde songstress in all her moody, majestic glory this evening at the Natural History Museum’s First Fridays.
The electro-poptress with a dark side will be performing along side EMA — a strangly entrancing combination of goth, grunge, and country.
