It wasn't until freshman year of college that we realized just how psychedelically awesome Alice In Wonderland really is. Magic mushrooms, body altering potions, a Caterpillar smoking a hookah--seriously if this isn't stoner propaganda, we don't know what is. To get you in the mood for Tim Burton's majorly anticipated adaptation, hitting theaters today, we've put together a little itinerary that's definitely trippy (and 90% legal). Just don't say we didn't warn you if you suddenly start shrinking!

Here's our NYC hit-list or what to before and after the movie:
1). SEE—Get into the mind-altering mood at SonicVision, an-out-of body visual light experience set to music (think Moby and U2) at the American Museum of Natural History. You'll feel high without inhaling.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; the show lasts for 30 minutes. Ticket cost is $15 for general public, $12 for members. You can buy online, at the door, or by calling 212-769-5200
American Museum of Natural History
81st Street, (between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue)

2). WATCH—We recommend buying advance tickets to the 9:00 p.m. 3D experience show time at the AMC Loews Kips Bay 15. It's comfy, clean, and spacious, so you can freak out without being grossed out.

3). DRINK—End your night right at Dove Parlour for the most hallucinatory alcohol of all--absinthe--and have your own "Drink Me" moment. Choose between a traditional preparation of absinthe, with sugar and water, or the Green Fairy cocktail, a minty concoction that will have you questioning whether you've actually left the theater.
Open until 4a.m.
