What does your role encompass from day-to-day?
"I run event press out of the HL L.A. office — everything from red-carpet openings on Rodeo to intimate dinners at Chateau."
Describe a typical day from start to end.
"On any given day, I get in to the office around 8:30 a.m. and start off by organizing my inbox. I've already read the emails on my Blackberry, but I have to keep my messages super organized, or I can’t stay on top of everything going on. Folders are a must and the red-flag reminder is my lifesaver! I try to prioritize what has to get done first and go from there. I'm always on a deadline; there's no time to dillydally. Client conference calls, filling red-carpet press pits, inviting editors, pitching and securing coverage are just a few things I do throughout my days!"
How long have you had your gig and how did you come by it?
"I've been at HL Group for a year and some change. The events department was looking for a red-carpet darling and they stole me away. I've never been happier!"
What was the interview process like?
"My boss is very transparent, so there was no beating around the bush with the demands of the position. I met with the L.A. Partner, the VP of events, and a few phoners later, I had an offer. The expectations were high, but I just received a promotion so I think I made the cut!"
What's the biggest perk to your job?
"I get to work with some of the best luxury brands in the country and the industry’s top talent on the red carpet. You just can’t beat that!"
