Dunham, 25, started making short films while in college at Oberlin. Her first feature, Creative Nonfiction, premiered at the 2009 SXSW festival, and the next year, her second film, Tiny Furniture, won two of the festival’s most coveted awards: Best Narrative Feature and the unfortunately named, Emergent Narrative Women Director award.
