T.G.I.F.F. Make that extra "F" stand for whatever you want — it's allowable given that we're still suffering from our extra-late Wednesday date night with the Whitney Museum of American Art. Specifically, The Whitney's 2011 Gala and Studio Party at Hudson River Park's Pier 57, which counted designers Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman's label, Marchesa, among the title sponsors. And you know nobody does a cocktail frock better than that British duo, as evidenced by the frothy creations we spotted on revelers like Chrissy Teigen, Bar Refaeli, Coco Rocha, and Michelle Monaghan.
While we didn't spy The New Yorker's famed art critic, Calvin "Tad" Tomkins (this year's honoree) among the disco-ball set, the surprise confetti drop, coupled with cupfuls of Chandon, might have hindered our field of vision. One place he certainly was not? The official after-party, hosted by Martin Dawson and Amanda Hearst, at Meatpacking hotspot The Double Seven, not even a block away from the Whitney's new building on the corner of Gansevoort and Washington streets. If those Lemon Drops convinced us to sneak a peek at the construction site, well, you won't tell anyone, will you?
