Object Lesson:
White Noise

SwearShoe_ObjectDesire
by Christene Barberich and Piera Gelardi
Why is it that for guys, anything falling between a dress shoe and a sneaker inevitably ends up looking woefully banal and somehow orthopedic? It's true, comfort comes at a price, and given the hard time so many well-dressed fellas have finding fashion-forward shoes, discovering the Dean 52 by London label Swear was like a revelation. In crisp, basket-print white leather, these gems are a clever hybrid between oxford and trainer. The slightest scoring of navy at the base adds definition and subtly seems to mimic the stitching of dressier kicks. Best of all, there's something joyfully Palm Beach about their white-hot look. Would we suggest you sport them with melon-colored socks? Not exactly. But socks wouldn't be entirely out of the question.
