Whether you’re a green juice junkie, a SoulCycle addict, or just trying to maintain a working relationship with your skinny jeans, healthy living is always in style. So we’ve tapped the wellness masterminds at Well+Good — the go-to-site for cool, healthy-leaning women coast to coast — to keep you in-the-know.
Valentine’s Day is a mixed grab bag of emotions. Single, and you feel the need to prove to everyone else that you’re okay. In a relationship, and you feel the need to have the most perfect evening ever (which usually puts way too much pressure on what’s often a pretty good thing).
Enter cool spiritual guru, best-selling author, and Kundalini teacher Gabrielle Bernstein, who wants you to immediately stop, drop, and just love yourself.
“This Valentine’s Day let yourself off the hook through self-forgiveness,” she says. “Make the commitment to release your past, accept the present, and surrender the future. Throughout the day continue to say this mantra to yourself, ‘I love you and I forgive you.’”
This is all part of a larger theme of super-crucial self love, which Bernstein talks about in all three of her best-selling novels — and in the Well+Good guide to having your Healthiest Year Ever.
