The Flat-Iron Trick You Didn’t Know You Needed

Illustrated by Marcel George.
Finally: a use for hair straighteners that isn't straightening hair. Thanks to a tip on this Reddit thread, you can learn to use a hair straightener to extract THC oil from weed. The general extraction practice is called dabbing, and it's usually pretty complicated. Sometimes, it will even involve a blow torch. This hack, however, makes it all much simpler. Leafly explains that "dabs are concentrated doses of cannabis that are made by extracting THC and other cannabinoids using a solvent like butane or carbon dioxide, resulting in sticky oils also commonly referred to as wax, shatter, budder, and butane hash oil (BHO)." This oil is reportedly one of the most potent forms of weed, and "patients dealing with severe or chronic pain or extreme nausea report that dabbing can be one of the best ways to get immediate and effective relief," Leafly adds. The leftover nug will likely be rendered useless after the hair-straightener treatment, but hey — if it's wax you want, it's wax you'll get. You can watch the technique yourself below.
