For this girl-next-door, yet still sexy side chignon, Blandi recommends starting with a smooth blowout. "Use a volumizer on the roots and an oil serum throughout the ends. This will maximize your volume and ensure the least amount of frizz and flyaways." Next, Blandi says to curl your hair with a large-barrel curling iron, create a deep side-part, and collect hair on the side in a ponytail (leaving out the top, front layer for later). Twist and secure sections from the ponytail into a chignon, using pins, then use your fingers or a comb to pull apart the strands so that the bun has volume and texture. Smooth the front section across your forehead and ear and pin underneath the chignon. To finish, spray with hairspray.
