We Love I Love Factory’s Super-Fanciful New Headwear

Dressy hats used to be reserved for Sunday services and Derby days. But if you've been within a five mile radius of a television lately, you know that millinery is having a moment. But Blair Waldorff does not a love affair make. Enter I Love Factory, the Brooklyn based label currently turning heads (including ours) with its collection of haute-headgear. Think ornate accessories decked with enough frills to be more than your garden variety headband, but less than something Stephen Jones would send down the runway. For spring, designers Laurel St. Romain and Christopher Garbushian turned perennials into fanciful head-ornaments using satins, silks and plenty of feathers. But their crowning achievement has to be the hand created flowers that rest atop a black taffeta headband. Fitting, we think, for queen bees from the Upper East side and beyond. Needless to say, we're looking forward to being spotted in one of these.
