Shop It NowWindow Shopper: The One Dress You'll Wear To Every Summer Event
Got a few weddings on your calendar this summer? Or a plethora of baby showers, graduation parties, formal dinners, and cocktail soirees? If the answer to any of these is yes, rest easy: We've found the perfect frock to get you through all those events in style.
The designers behind Costello Tagliapietra just launched a lower-priced capsule collection, called CT Costello Tagliapietra, right in time for warm-weather events. The line consists of 15 dresses priced at $298 each, and is carried exclusively at Barneys Co-op stores. The best part? The dresses feature the gorgeous draping and fluid silhouettes the designing duo is known for, sans the whole I-can't-go-out-for-a-month situation you normally find yourself in, after you buy one.
We like this boatneck, asymmetric option because it's a serious multi-tasker; pair it with a blazer and pumps for a business lunch, a jean jacket and chunky sandals for weekend brunches, or a statement necklace and peep-toe heels for a wedding. Like we always say: We can't help you juggle everything, but we can help you look hot while you attempt it.
CT Costello Tagliapietra Iris Dress, $298, available at Barneys Co-op, 3040 M Street NW, 202-350-5832; 5471 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase, 301-634-4061

Don't Have Weekend Date Plans Yet? Now You Do
If you're sticking around town with your well-dressed suitor (or male bestie, or fave cousin) this holiday weekend, you don't have to feel quite so bummed anymore: Dapper-dude label Hugh & Crye is having a sample sale at its Georgetown showroom.
The brand will be offering its signature dress shirts and ties at a deep discount, as well as several limited-edition pieces that are only available at the showroom. The homegrown line specializes in providing personalized fittings, so feel free to send all your male associates over to spruce up their wardrobes. Or grab some button-ups to give to Dad — it's almost Father's Day, after all, and isn't it time he upgraded from those standard-issue polo shirts?
When: Saturday, May 26, and Sunday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Where: Hugh & Crye, 3212 O Street NW; 202-250-3807.

Time To Celebrate: Intermix Is Getting Brand New Digs
We've done our fair share of browsing (and buying) at our local Intermix, but we have to say that the M Street outpost leaves something to be desired. The word cramped comes to mind, if we're being completely honest; We often find ourselves getting our designer fill via the website, just to avoid bumping elbows at the brick-and-mortar shop.
Luckily, it seems the team at Intermix has heard our gripes, as they're now making the move to greener (and bigger!) pastures. The store will be taking over the large — we're talking 2,500-plus-square-feet large — corner spot at 3300 M Street NW, giving them plenty of room for all the Elizabeth and James, Tory Burch, and Dannijo a girl could ask for. Expect the new boutique to debut later this summer (exact date TBD), so try and keep your piggy bank intact until then. (Georgetown Dish)

Window Shopper: We're Hooked On This Sweet Neon Bracelet

During the course of our daily Internet prowls, we're always on the lookout for go-to accessories that can add some effortless cool to our getups — without adding any extra fuss to our routine. So, when we heard that Charm Georgetown had stocked up on breezy neon baubles for summer, it was a bit of a moth-to-a-flame scenario. Among the brightly hued pieces from Kenneth Jay Lane, Kendra Scott, and Vanessa Mooney, this Gorjana Taylor Leather Triple Wrap Bracelet, $70, stands out as a so-easy addition to a simple tee and shorts or a summer dress. We're seriously loving the hook closure, and the eye-popping shade makes it an ideal stand-alone piece, in case you're not feeling the arm-party vibe. Where: Charm Georgetown, 2910 M Street NW; 202-298-0420. Also available online.

Aspirational Shopping 101: Céline RTW Comes To Hu's Wear

While we normally always recommend fiscal responsibility over fashion splurges, tonight might be the one occasion where we struggle with our own practicality. Why? Because Hu's Wear is showcasing the Céline Spring '12 RTW collection, with help from local stylists Tara Luizzi, Jen Roberti, and Alison Lukes. So, basically, you can expect really beautiful clothes paired with practical advice on how you can actually wear them — otherwise known as a one-two punch. Phoebe Philo's ultra-luxe, blissfully minimalist designs for spring will be on display, and the style mavens at Hu's Wear are hoping that the District's working girls will fall for the tailored trousers, structured tops, and fashion-forward florals. At the very least, you'll enjoy a bit of Parisian eye candy and some free personalized advice from the pros. But, should you opt to splurge on a perfect blazer and then have to resign yourself to eating ramen for a month, we won't judge. When: Today, May 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Hu's Wear, 2906 M Street NW; 202-342-2020.

This Trunk Show Is Hawking Billiard-Ball Baubles — & They're Cute
In a world of fast fads and hot-this-second trends, we're always on the lookout for super-unique and personal pieces, and we especially dig it when the ones finds are locally made. Case in point: D.C.-based designer Eleanor Salazar makes hand-carved jewelry out of billiard balls (yes, we're talking cue balls, 8 balls, and everything in between), and her wares are completely quirky and adorable.
We've shown you pieces from her previous collections already, but now you can peep the goods in person. Mount Pleasant boutique Nana, a go-to for all things vintage and handmade, is hosting the designer for a trunk show this Saturday, so keep an eye out for colorful hoop earrings and chunky statement rings. And remember — you don't have to be a pool shark to sport these baubles.
When: Saturday, May 19, from 1 to 5 p.m.Where: Nana, 3068 Mount Pleasant Street NW; 202-667-6955.

Trina Turk Plus A Sassy Blogging Duo Make For One Can't-Miss Trunk Show

Brunch and shopping, shopping and brunch — isn't that one of life's greatest combos? We jump on any opportunity to blend our two favorite activities (food and fashion, in case you were still unclear). So, Urban Chic's next soiree is obviously at the top of our weekend to-do list. You'll also get to indulge in mimosas (you didn't think we'd send you to a brunch without cocktails, did you?) and spa treats as you shop the summer wares. To top it all off, Urban Chic is offering 15% off purchases for brunch-goers — just mention "Bitches Who Brunch" when you check out. That is, if you can pry yourself away from the mimosas. Ready For Summer Parties? Shop Aliceanna's Pretty Wares To Prep
Besides being a major 2012 buzzword, "shopping local" also just makes us feel really good — we get to support local designers and champion indie retailers, and put money back into our local economy. That's about as warm and fuzzy as it gets, right?
So, if you've got the buy-local bug, too, you'll want to make tracks to Mount Pleasant shop Nana, where Maryland-based designer Patrice Gentile has been sending batches of adorable items from her Aliceanna spring '12 collection.
Owner Jackie Flanagan handpicked three stellar pieces from the collection — the gorgeous ruffled pencil skirt shown here, a fitted cocktail dress with an intricate halter neckline, and a cotton-eyelet frock with a peter pan collar. Items are available in sizes 2 to 12, and each piece is handmade by the designer. But wait, there's more! While just three pieces are available at Nana, you can shop the full collection, which includes gorgeous tiered sundresses and so-hot bralette tops, online.
Where: Nana, 3068 Mount Pleasant Street NW; 202-667-6955.
