[UPDATE: This story was originally published on March 2.]

While the song "Nobody Walks In L.A." rings oh-so-true in our urban sprawl of a city, if you're going to be wining and dining, the car's gotta stay in park. And let's face it, this is no easy task for us sometimes lazy Angelenos (we're not afraid to admit it), especially when coordinating a night of debauchery with a gaggle of pals who refuse to DD. To avoid the painstaking wait for a taxi (come on, it's not like we can whistle and wave 'em down like NYC folks), we've identified five neighborhoods that are packed with spots to eat, drink, and be very merry without your ride. From the Arts District downtown to Los Feliz to Santa Monica's Main Street, you've got no excuse to get behind the wheel when serious fun is just steps away.
