Massive Attack! Daria, Raquel, and Dree Get High Fashion in Vogue Paris's 64-Page Designer Homage...
We've all heard the refrain that modeling is more than just standing around in front of a fan, and after seeing this editorial, we buy it. Dutch photogs Inez & Vinoodh take the concept to the extreme in this month's Vogue Paris by shooting pretty much every model of the moment as personifcations of the designers they're wearing. Titled "ADN de Mode" (DNA of Fashion), the cinematic 64-page spread is like an glossary of designers and brands both classic and cult, from Pucci to Paul Smith. There's no end to the magic: A topless Dree Hemingway projects the youthful insouciance of Stella McCartney; a bronzed Daria Weborwy, clutching a Diet Coke, does "Manhattan chic" in Michael Kors; and Raquel Zimmermann channels the Kaiser with his signature gloves, chunky rings, and a white coiffure.
