Short haircuts are fun, unique and liberating. The right crop can show off your personal style (not to mention your facial structure — hello, cheekbones!). The only downside to making the chop? Less versatility...or so we thought.
According to stylist Hadar Leibovitz at Salon AKS, there are tons of ways to wear shorter hairstyles that are anything but boring. "Girls with short hair tend to have fun personalities — hey, they've already taken a risk by making the cut! — so I just try to encourage my shorter-haired clients to have fun and experiment with what they've got."
To prove her point, Leibovitz designed three updos exclusively for us that all work perfectly with shorter hair. To demonstrate the looks, we tapped our former intern, Michelle King (and current contributor at xoJane) to lend her shoulder-length locks, and broke down each look into steps for your copying pleasure.
